摘要Abstract 

China has proposed connecting rail and upgrading road networks with Nepal. Critics in South Asia, see this as a mere geopolitical game and expansion of Chinese influence in the region. Much less focus is given to how these projects will likely to impact Nepal at the local level where the project is to be executed. China's vision for expanding connectivity with Nepal and further should be viewed beyond the geopolitical zero-sum game. Moreover, given the fact that China has invested hugely in almost all South Asian countries, stability in the region would be of benefit for China. Therefore, I will try to explain how the project is likely to change Nepal. Further, it is also argued that the large-scale investment in infrastructure development projects will help in enhancing economic development and political stability in Nepal.
